The pure musician in me thinks that even having a page where I attempt to sell myself and my services is akin to prostitution. The cynic in me thinks that it's foolish. Yet here I am. I make alright money playing shows and selling my cd's, but not near enough to make it. Here are some other things I do to make ends meet. Maybe I can be of use to you!
- RECORDING- I have a specially built nonlinear recording system based around the awesome and versatile m-audio 1010 sound card. It runs on an operating system built by myself and optimized for high definition sound recording. The computer is built into an extra large four rack space server case, which is in turn mounted into a customized Gator brand case that has been altered for shock absorption. This is handy because my gear can go anywhere at a moments notice and can record for one thousand hours in stereo, nonstop. Music, live shows, podcasts, commercials and anything else.
- MASTERING-Mastering is the art of arranging tracks and bringing levels up to competitive commercial standards in preparation for production and duplication. This is an important yet often overlooked part of bringing music to the market.
- SONGWRITING- This is my deepest and most secret passion. I have been writing songs since always. The earliest evidence is "Rock and Roll Grandma" when I was five years old. Songwriting helped me process the feelings of adolescence and the pangs of life and is something I will do, no matter where I am, for the rest of my life. - LIVE SOUND- Chupa Cabra Live. 2600 watts of power thanks to Crown amplifiers, pumping through a 15" Yamaha sub and two 15" Yamaha mains. Nice Shure Microphones running into a 16 channel, multiple routing Yamaha mixer. Compressor, limiter, crossover network, rackmount reverb unit, Antares vocal processor. Plenty of power for mid-size to larger clubs.
- BOOKING SHOWS- At least in my neck of the woods. I've got a rapport with a lot of venues and I work directly with quite a few. I've booked and promoted hundreds and hundreds of shows.
