Right up front: I know this review is like years late. But my personal Mantra is "I don't Give a Fuuuuck." So when I picked this up the other day and popped it in my boom box I knew I had to write a review. Sam King (maybe a baritone guitar?) and Steve Ragle (drums like a mofo) are no doubt golden gods. They are a two piece band with the energy and sound of five. They are calling Fayetteville home, but they have been known to live occasionally in Fort Smith.
From the opening salvo of "Hipster Murder Blues" to "This Cake is all Frosting" all the way to the end of "Where's it Got Us Now?", it's nothing if not a great pop record albeit with an appropriate amount of grit and grimy sensibilities.
The melodies are occasionally a little rough for my liking, but Sam King has that kind of pretty when it's gritty voice.
I wish I could describe them better but maybe a video will suffice. This is from their Mexico Tour.
